I plugged in some numbers on an IRS website for the 2008 Economic Stimulus Package that was voted for by John McCain and signed by George W Bush.
If your salary was $200,000 or higher you get this
According to law, the economic stimulus payment amount that you would otherwise be entitled to receive is reduced by 5% of the amount that your Tax Year 2007 Adjusted Gross Income exceeds $150,000. You would have been eligible for an economic stimulus payment of $1300, but your AGI exceeds $150,000 by enough to reduce that amount to zero.
Huh? Wait a minute. People making over 200K don't get a check? And this stimulates the economy? Geez, this sounds alot like what Barack Obama wants to do. Oh but he's a democrat, it's socialism when they do it. It's good hard clean patriotic stimulatin' the economy and growing jobs and Joe the plumberin' when Republicans do it.

Get it straight: Bush and McCain are republicans in name only. They are certainly not conservative and much less fiscal conservatives. The last one was Reagan. Then Bush 1 came along and went back on his promise not to increase taxes. He also increased government spending. Clinton kept it pretty steady, increasing in some areas, decreasing in others. If you worked hard enough, you could maybe even show that he decreased spending. Then Bush 2 came along and blew the door wide open and spending went up like crazy. McCain is right on board. Stimulus packages do shit. The money goes to people who spend it, not save it. Savings generate investments and loans and stimulate the economy. Spending alone does nothing for it. Clinton looks like a fiscal conservative compare to Bush and McCain!
So let's be clear: we have on one side a communist, and on the other a socialist. That's our choice next week. The GOP started it's own demise when it allowed moderate conservatives to join its ranks. These are the same ones who are tunring onto the GOP right now: Colin Powell, former Minnesota representative Carlson, and others whose names escape me but who are voting in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi.
None of it is good hard clean patriotic stimulatin' the economy and growing jobs and Joe the plumberin'; it's all socialism and all bullshit, and yes, anti-American.
The dems need to win everything next week and control the house, senate, and congress. Then they can truly own the policies that will sink this country deeper into oblivion and have no one else to blame and let the American people see exactly what they are about.
The republican party needs to be purged of all its weak ass, reach across the aisle moderates like McCain and go back to its roots -or- a new party needs to emerge, the Conservative Party, and stand for true conservative values.
McCain has turned out to be a weak, spineless piece of moderate crap whom is trying to be like a democrat. The problem is you can never out-democrat a true liberal democrat like Obama. In the process of wanting to stand for everything, he stands for nothing.
So Obama: just give a job to McCain in your cabinet, he's earned it.
